UPDATE 2022: Read our latest Q&A with Jasmin here.
Quiet, unassuming and modest, Jasmin unexpectedly shot to international sporting prominence in January 2019 when, 14 months after giving birth to her first baby, she became the first woman to take the outright win at the 268-mile Spine Race – a winter ultra-running event down the mountainous backbone of England that is dubbed ‘Britain’s Most Brutal’.
Not only that, she also obliterated the previous overall course record by more than 12 hours with a clocking of 83hrs 12mins and, as a breast-feeding mum, expressed milk at checkpoints along the way.
It was a story that was told – and continues to be told – by media all over the world, from the BBC to Good Morning America, ESPN and even Vogue.
A small animal vet, Dr Paris, who last year completed a PhD studying acute myeloid leukaemia, lives near Edinbrugh with her husband and 2 young children.

The 35-year-old will be live on our INOV8 Facebook channel this coming Monday (April 6th) at 5pm UK time, which is 6pm in Central Europe, 12midday in Eastern US, 11am in Central US and 10am in Pacific US. Either join us live at that time and ask Jasmin a question, or send it to us in advance by emailing marketing@inov-8.com
Prior to the Spine Race, Jasmin had twice won the British Fell Running Championships (in 2015 & 2018), taken victory in the 2016 Skyrunner World Series (Sky Extreme), placed 2nd overall at the five-day Dragon’s Back event in 2015 and, in her first attempt at a 100+ mile distance race, finished 6th woman at the 2016 Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB).
She also holds the women’s record times for the UK’s classic trio of big 24-hour mountain challenges – the Bob Graham Round (England) 15hrs 24mins, Paddy Buckley Round (Wales) 18hrs 33mins and Ramsay Round (Scotland) 16hrs 13mins.
Jasmin had held the fastest overall time for the Ramsay Round until Es Tresidder beat it in the summer of 2019 by a mere minute. In the true spirit of the sport, Jasmin ran as one of the pacers supporting Es in his record run.
Amongst the other epic races and challenges Jasmin has undertaken in recent years were the Els 2900 in Andorra (see lead image at top of blog post by Loic Tregan) and the La Petite Trotte A Leon (PTL), which is held as part of the UTMB festival.
